Kyoto Marathon 2022 will be held online

We have decided to hold the “Kyoto Marathon 2022” scheduled to be held on February 20, 2022 (Sunday) as an online marathon, as it is difficult to accurately predict the future situation of COVID-19, and we cannot put any more burden on the health and safety of runners, volunteers, staff members, citizens and medical staff who support the event operation.

This will be the second one held online, following the 2021 event. The Kyoto Marathon 2022 is planned as a further advanced online marathon, and running events which not only experienced participants, but also beginners and families can join. [Details will be announced on the official website at a later date.] We hope to further convey the unique charm of  “Kyoto Marathon”, and to make it an event that will pass the sash to the 2023 race.

We apologize to everyone who has been looking forward an in person race for the first time in two years, however, we continue to plan events that can be enjoyed as much as possible even in the middle of the Coronavirus crisis. We look forward to your continued support for the “Kyoto Marathon” in the future.
